The truth is much of our verbal communication is meaningless noise. We speak without thinking, we add verbal filler to our thoughts, and we pontificate our personal ideas rather than exchange them with others. We then wonder why our relationships are a mess and why we can’t get others to listen to us. Great vocal impact depends on great communication. Some people use their voices in ways that are damaging to their vocal health. Most of us have experienced such damage at least once.
